Plan the final demand

If you expect to improve the roof, walls or windows, tell the heating designer. A system chosen for today’s heat loss may be oversized after significant improvements. Equally, an urgent replacement may require a practical staged plan rather than waiting for an entire renovation.

Compare complete projects

Compare combinations of work and their effects on comfort, disruption and ongoing demand. Do not compare only an insulation price with a heating price. Include the implications for radiators, controls and hot water, and ask who coordinates the different trades.
